Embodying beauty, elegance and grace, the JW Marquis Marriott Dubai Hotel defied all my knowledge of superior service, immaculate design and incomparable luxury and showed me what it truly means to live on the other side of the wealth spectrum, offering sensational views and an enticing array of restaurants, it’s impossible (seriously I dare you) not to fall in love.

The JW Marriott Marquis Dubai Hotel is the world’s second tallest hotel, a 72-storey, 355 m (1,165 ft) 84 floor, twin-tower skyscraper beauty situated at the business Bay Area in downtown Dubai. The sleek two symmetrical property features 1,608 spectacular rooms run by Marriott International. From a distance, when the airport pickup announced that the futuristic jagged design (which I later found out from the staff was inspired by a palm tree) was our destination I nearly fainted.

Sitting beautifully on the banks of the man-made Dubai Water Canal, this Business Bay property is just around a 10-minute ride to The Dubai Mall (there’s a free shuttle from the hotel every 30 minutes) less than 15 minutes from the Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Opera and within a healthy walking distance to the Dubai metro. Although I came in and exited via the Sherger airport, the Dubai airport is just 20 minutes away from the property.

Checkin was ridiculously easy with the most attentive staff ever, who paid full attention and answered all my unending questions. A friendly bellboy escorted me to my very spacious deluxe room on the 56th floor which featured a largest and softest bed, a work desk and multiple functional wardrobe, a bathroom large enough for me to a cartwheel (yes I did a cartwheel – and failed, but that’s besides the point) the bathroom hosted a stand-alone tub and an array of Aromatherapy Associates toiletries, and a Bose surround sound system which I shamelessly blasted at full capacity as I did my happy dance (gentle reminder that all occurred between 5AM & 6AM)

I swam my jet lag away inside the warm pool overlooking the the twin towers. If you can afford it (I certainly couldn’t, considering my tight budget and all) I recommend grabbing lunch and a glass or four of any of the amazing sunny cocktails the Aqua Pool Bar & Grill has to offer.

If, like me, food is not just a requirement for living, but an essential ritual that requires a certain level of… oompfh (you get it, can’t find the words to describe it) then you’re in for a treat. Calling all foodies planning to stay at the JW Marquis Marriott Dubai, with around 20 Restaurants, cafés and lounges, your palette shall thank you. My journey to food freedom began from Breakfast at Kitchen6 which literally has something for all palates, with six live cooking stations from across the globe. I had everything from full range English breakfasts to Asian, Indian and Middle Eastern flavors. During one of the nights, I went a few floors higher and discovered the rooftop paradise sitting above the clouds. I couldn’t afford to eat there of course but sky-high steakhouse Prime68 is a culinary experience like none I’ve ever had. The glitzy 72nd-floor cocktail bar Vault is perfect for a nightcap.

I had complimentary access to the executive lounge, and boy did I maximize it to the fullest! Shoutout to Ajim who is just an angel in human form, who went to the heavens and back to ensure I had the best time. One thing I’d say (which you’ll eventually find out for yourself) is this, the staff power all have one thing in common; their ability to convey sincere warmth along with their outstanding professional service – immaculately divine. Doesn’t matter if it’s 3pm or 3am, the staff always come through, and you know me, once a business has mastered the art of proper service, they have won my heart forever. I recommend the five star gem to anyone seeking fine luxury and nearly unbeatable service.

Finally, on my last night, I got to spend a magical night at the Le Farine Café where the smell of freshly baked bread, crafted barista coffee and a selection of authentic French cuisine nearly melted my heart with one of my best friends and support systems who I “accidentally” bumped into during one of my late night food hurrahs into town, we just so happened to be getting dinner at the same time inside the Emirates tower and also surprisingly were in the same hotel (if that isn’t divine, I wonder what is) we enjoyed great conversations and traded hilarious Dubai stories under the stars at the outdoor sitting area, surrounded by mammoth size buildings and serenaded by the sound of slow traffic easing past less than 20 feet away.

The JW Marquis Marriott Dubai Hotel is a magical place that has excellently mastered the craft of luxury. I am honored and proud to give it a full 5 Star review. I highly recommend it.
